Have you ever participated in “Black Friday”? You know, the day after Thanksgiving with all the “bargains"? With great fervor, I can say I have never been there in the chaos of the official beginning of the Christmas shopping season.
Unfortunately, chaos is about all that most people live in during the Advent Season. All the bells and whistles of buying gifts for those they love and appreciate seems to keep people busy and distracted from the real sense of peace and security we can feel this time of year. It’s great to participate in the season by sharing and giving gifts. After all, it does reflect the heart of God for all of us. He really did give…to the highest and most significant level. He lowered himself to become like us. The divine became humanity. I don’t see much chaos in that. I just see incredible opportunity for us. Because of His gift, we can approach God and understand His heart for us.
Don’t let the chaos of Christmas get to you this year. Choose to be a recipient of the peace that God sent to us through His Son.
